BACKSTAGE AT LFW

The international fashion weeks are the perfect place to find future hair inspiration and trends, and Gatsby & Miller stylist Julie Church had a great time working with the Moroccanoil team. Here she shares what happened backstage.

This season I worked on the Temperley London and Kristian Aadenevik shows with Moroccanoil, and for me the Aadnevik show was my favourite. We got to work with a fab tribal look, which involved really pushing the products and using them creatively in different ways. We did a lot of braiding and twist work throughout the hair.

Any looks you’ll be taking back to the salon?
Most certainly. Heading towards summer now we will be working a lot more with braids in all sorts of ways! Plus, the really delicate look we went for at the Temperley show will be a must for weddings this season.

Most used product during fashion week?
Other than the always-necessary Moroccanoil Treatment we worked with the new Texture Clay; it’s a moldable clay that defines and sculpts to create natural looks with a matte finish and strong hold. It’s so versatile and works on all hair types and lengths.

Did you spot any celebs?
At the Temperley show we spotted model Yasmin le Bon, and singer Corinne Bailey Rae. We snuck in and pretended we had tickets in the standing area! Oh and we also saw the amazing fashion photographer Ellen Von Unwerth.

What did you exist on throughout Fashion Week?
Coconut water! It’s the best thing to go for when you don’t have time to eat!
