MEN ONLY!

Earlier this month one of Europe’s largest hair and beauty suppliers, Capital Hair and Beauty, interviewed our stylist, Luke Baker, about his top men’s hair predictions for Spring. In case you missed it, we’re sharing Luke’s top three styles right here!

British influence
“Although the clean-cut grunge look is a timeless and consistent trend, it’s been given a modern makeover. Today the hair is swept over the face via heavy fringes and soft waves and there’s an emphasis on working with natural volume. This style is definitely influenced by that unapologetic British energy seen in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s rave scene.”

Short and strong
“We’re also going to see a lot of short crops, which have become a staple for the everyday gent. This look showcases strong facial features by providing a simple frame that can be made versatile with the correct styling. At Kiko Kostadinov, we saw a futuristic take on the style of Joy Division’s Ian Curtis, while at Margaret Howell, we saw an advancement on the style, offering a messier take by adding separation to the fringe.”

Curls
“For gents with a more eccentric side who don’t want to compromise their professionalism, curls can be emphasised by a short back and sides. The look comes around every season but can be adapted to each client through warming up the sides with a shorter length. Whether this is done with scissor skin fades or by using longer grades, this look subtly complements sharp, classic edging.”
