FASHION FORWARD!
From the 17th until the 21st of February, London will once again become the host to the world’s fashion elite, as well as some top hairstyling talent putting in the work backstage. Ahead of the event, we talk to Gatsby & Miller Stylist Julie Church, about what she’s most looking forward to this Fashion Week.
Which shows will you be working at?
Temperley London, Kristian Aadnevik and the third one hasn’t been announced yet!
How many seasons have you worked backstage at LFW?
I’ve worked backstage with the Moroccanoil UK Creative Team for six seasons, so this will be my seventh!
What’s the most fun part about being involved in LFW?
To be honest, most of the time it’s so stressful and pressured you want to cry! But it is amazing to be involved and to be working with a team of stylists that come from all over the UK. As it will be our seventh season together we really know how to enhance and support each other’s strengths, and we always have a giggle along the way. It helps to relieve the pressure sometimes!
What are the top three products that you just can’t live without during Fashion Week?
It really depends as trends change each season. One thing’s for sure, we will be prepping the models’ hair with Moroccanoil Treatment, as it protects the hair and will allow us to style it in any way. They’re also launching the new Texture range this month, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we will be using that too!
How does your time at LFW affect your work at G&M?
When I get back to the salon I will share the looks we create at LFW with the team and my clients, and then certain elements will be taken into our hairdressing. Whether it be braiding, knot work, or different styling ideas.
