Did you always want to be a hairstylist?
After I left school I sat my a levels, then decided instead of university, I wanted to do an apprenticeship. I saw a hair apprenticeship advertised in a shop window and thought I’d try it and fell in love with it.

What was your first hairstylist job?
I started work experience at Toni & Guy in Aylesbury, at the young age of 14!

Can you tell us about a memorable moment you had while doing hair?
I won 1st place in a London and Home Counties hair up competition and was rewarded with a financial and trophy reward.

Who’s hair would you love to work on?
I would love to work on Katy Perry’s hair, I think she’d be a lot of fun to style.

What surprises you most about working as a hair stylist?
Being in and around hairdressing for quite a few years now, it’s wonderful to learn how loyal people can be.

What’s the one hair care tool you simply can’t live without?
My GHD curve barrel wand

Who is your style icon?
Jennifer Lawrence- I love her hair

What is your number one hair care tip?
If you don’t have time to do treatments at home let us do them in the salon for you. By keeping your hair nourished, hydrated and healthy will make your hair much more manageable to style. Plus of course lots of shine!

What are the trendiest styles for hair at the moment?
Hair cuts would be The WOB- long wavy bob
Colour would be Peach tones- it really flatters you skin tone and makes your eye colour pop

Which hair/beauty products and tools are always in your kit?
Moroccan oil- it’s my go to for every client as a prep for any style

What do you love most about being a stylist?
Transforming people, making people look and feel better. Meeting new people every day.

Where do you get your inspiration from?
I love Pinterest! I’m always pinning styles and colours on Pinterest.com, and we also have industry channels that is full of inspirational articles and images.

You do a lot of wedding hair, tell me more about it all?
I love being apart of someone’s special day, the getting ready in the morning is one of the best parts of the day- it’s a lot of fun. I love the beautiful locations I get to travel to. I’m privileged to be part of making the bride and wedding party look and feel amazing.

What/why do you love colouring?
I love how much it changes people, the shine it gives, hair contouring is a huge technique at the moment which uses a combination of free hand application and highlighting paired with the careful positioning of different tones and depths around the face to highlight and shadow targeted areas. Darker tones create shadows and are used to shorten or narrow the face shape, whilst lighter tones elongate and lengthen the face shape by reflecting light. This clever placement of colour and the careful selection of complimentary tones perform an optical illusion and make your face appear more defined and features more accentuated.

As well as wedding hair, what other occasions do you do up-do’s for?
I love styling hair for party’s or for people who are going on nights out, whether that be big bouncy blow drys or updos…
