Gatsby & Miller are delighted to announce that Dawn Montgomery is joining our Amersham salon as a Salon Director.
Dawn is bringing with her a wealth of creativity and advanced hairdressing skills. She has 17 years’ experience and tremendous talent both as a stylist and specialist in the very latest colour techniques. There is nothing she enjoys more than working with clients all the way through from consultation to achieving the look they desire, whether they are aiming for traditional or something more adventurous.
“I’m very excited about working at Gatsby & Miller, a top-class and progressive salon where I can get creative and work in all aspects of the hairdressing industry,” Dawn says.
She is a great believer in taking full advantage of up-to-the-minute training and after completing Level 3 advanced hairdressing at a local college when she first became a hairdresser, two-and-a-half years ago she returned to college to train for her assessor’s award.
Last year she had the chance to train with a West End salon franchise for six months as either a stylist or colour technician and as that company is famous for colour, she chose the latter in order to make the most of that opportunity.
“Colour is very exciting nowadays – it’s predominantly about enhancement of the hair and can be very diverse, with the effect you aim for both in terms of style taking into account the client’s natural hair colour, skin tone and lifestyle together with the look they are aiming for.
“For me, it is nice to see my clients all the way through from the initial consultation and finding out what they want and helping them achieve that – I love to see them through the whole process.
“Working with Gatsby & Miller owners John and Julie is really inspiring because they are so dedicated to letting their team be creative and totally professional. On a personal level, I think training is a must in this industry and taking youngsters through their training keeps me right up to date with what is happening in hairdressing – that’s very important.”
