Fades For Men

The fade is perhaps the most popular hairstyle for gents right now and can be adapted for all tastes from extreme skin fades to more blended high fades. As the name suggests, the fade is a haircut that tapers from longer hair down to shorter, clippered or shaved sides.  So, what should you ask for?

The High Fade is a more dramatic look, typically starting around your temples before tapering off. The Mid Fade usually starts an inch or so above the ears before blending into short to mid-length hair.

The Low Fade tends to start much closer to the ears before fading into shaved sides.  The Skin Fade gradually tapers down to virtually bare skin at the sides.

Classic Men's Hairstyles 

It's hard to define exactly what a classic men's hairstyle is but most people have heard of the crew cut and the short back & sides.

The crew cut usually features a tapered back and sides with longer hair on top and at the front.  You may even ask for the tapered areas to graduate into a fade - the choice is yours.

A short back & sides is similar to the crew cut but you may keep your hair shorter on top and at the front.  This is a perfect look if you want a neat yet stylish hairstyle.

Quiffed Hairstyles 

Ever since Elvis hit the headlines, we've all had a bit of a crush on the quiff!  This hairstyle has been around since the 1950s and is believed to have been a post-war reaction to the utilitarian hairstyles seen during wartime.

It has something of a rebellious, rock n roll vibe but is also a great look that can be styled neatly during the day and into a more coiffured style for evening.  

Put simply, a quiffed hairstyle is where you keep the hair longer on top so it can be styled with some height - upwards and forwards. 

There are many options if you fancy a quiff, including a flat top, a messy textured quiff, or a huge pompadour style quiff.
